Jo Buckingham
I have been working with and around animals of all kinds (dogs, cats, horses, guinea pigs, rabbits, ducks - to name but a few) for a large part of my adult-life. I chose to take voluntary redundancy in 2003 and set up a small business (which I still run) dog walking and caring for all kinds of animals whilst their owners were either away on holiday or at work. I had however, also always been fascinated by animal behaviour and had often wondered "why does she do that?" when my own dogs had behaved in what appeared to be a partcularly illogical or puzzling manner.
Because of this keen interest in canine behaviour, I took a course in Canine Psychology with the Canine Behaviour Centre. I passed the course at the end of 2006 becoming an Associate Member of the Canine Behaviour Centre.
In April 2007 I passed Jan Fennell's Foundation and Advanced courses in Canine Communication making me an Associate Dog Listener trained in Jan's method of "Amichien" Bonding.
Jan has written several best selling books, made television programs for Animal Planet and Channel 4 and is known worldwide as the "Dog Listener". Her revolutionary method has taught me how to take control of the four all important elements needed to convince a dog of my role as leader. I have also learned how to unravel a lot of previously unexplained behaviour. It is amazing how things fall into place when you look at them from a canine point of view rather than from a human perspective.
The knowledge that I have gained together with the techniques that I have learned, will enable you to build a better understanding of your own dog and by doing so improve your relationship to achieve that special Canine Affinity!
